On Project Muse and JSTOR

Johns Hopkins University Press publishes SEL electronically via Project Muse and JSTOR, online databases for searching and retrieving the full texts of articles published in participating journals.

Users within Rice University's system may access issues of SEL from volume 39 (1999) up to our most recently published issue on Project Muse directly. For more general information about Project Muse, see the Johns Hopkins University Press Project Muse home page.

Electronic texts of SEL volumes 1 through 52 (1961-2012) are now available on JSTOR.

Issues and individual articles of SEL can also be accessed through the search engines of most university libraries. Visitors from outside the Rice system should contact their libraries to access all Project Muse-participating journals on the World Wide Web. For those without institutional affiliations, JSTOR offers free access to selected articles through a personal account. For $40 a year, an electronic subscription to Project Muse provides access to a year's worth of issues of SEL.
